I'm 5'9", blonde, thin but not anorexic, and here's my picture. Ignore my cat, please. Who Should I Cosplay?

One of the most-asked questions in the cosplay world is, the dreaded, "Who should I cosplay?"

I've seen threads dedicated to this topic and even whole subforums. I've been asked on a telephone call, in person, and on Facebook. I've even asked this myself, usually not in that way though. Mine is usually a, "Who should I cosplay first?" type of deal. But... I'm guilty of it too.

Anyway, I can understand completely why people want other people's opinions on who they should cosplay. You want to get attention in your cosplay, right? (Oh look, a whole 'nother can of worms for me to play with later.) You want to look good, right? You want someone to say to you, "You are the best Yuna I've ever seen! You look just like her!" So, the smartest thing to do is find out other people's opinions before you even put down the 2 dollars to buy that aqua colored spool of thread, right?

My name is Trin and I like horses, Green Lantern, and abandoned mental institutions...

And then there was this great desire for me to start a blog. So, here I am.

I'm Trin. I'm a cosplayer and a writer. One of these days I will be able to happily say I'm a writer by trade. Right now, I'm a writer because I love it. I love scaring people and giving them that creepy little feeling in the back of their mind. One day, that love will make me real money, but until then, you're stuck with me.

Anyway, I plan on trying to keep this interesting. Or not, I'll probably get the desire to write about things I don't think anyone else on this planet, or other planets, will be interested in. If you can read the subtitle for the blog, it talks about a few things I want to, and probably will, end up ranting blogging about. (It is going to be a hard thing for me to learn to use the term 'blogging'. I've avoided it for YEARS.)

Stuff I plan on blogging about
  • Cosplay: I love to cosplay. It's fun. It's relaxing. There are a lot of things that are just a big, huge cloud of mystery about it out there. You get stuck figuring out so much for yourself and getting so much crap information too. I don't know how helpful I'll be, but I'll sure as hell try to get some of that stuff out there that I have pieced together over the years. Oh, yeah, I'll post lots of links to helpful stuff too. Cosplay is FUN. It should be less about the frustration and the drama and more about the FUN.
  • Video Games: I have a 360. PS3. Wii. PSP. DS. And a bunch of older systems... I love video games, what can I say? There are a lot of great blogs out there about them. You'll probably get a lot of me going, "I FOUND THIS IN THE WASTELAND AND IT'S AWESOME!"
  • Comic Books: I pick up my comics almost every wednesday. I'm a big DC reader... not so much Marvel, but if you suggest it and I'm not already horribly pissed off at the writer, I'll try it.
  • Conventions: I attend these. They are fun. I wear my costumes and meet awesome famous people. I also end up being critical about them alot. I staff a few every year. I've been to fail cons and I've been to awesome cons. I'll keep going to them... and you'll get to hear about them. I'll probably even break out some awesome old con reports. I hand wrote about... 8 pages on an Otakon one year. I'm a nerd...
  • OTHER STUFF! I'm a nerd so chances are you might hear about that Halloween thing that I went to that wasn't that scary but this one costume was awesome. Or, you'll get a rant about why Adventureland sucked and I still watched it through to the end because I knew where it was filmed. ... Or some other stuff.

At this point your brain is going, "WHY AM I PROCESSING THIS WHEN THERE IS NO CONTENT YET?!?!" Eh, I don't know. Hopefully you are looking back at this after there is content. Do you know me? Or, it could be that you have reached the end of the internet and this is all there is left to read.

...

Yeah, look for content soon.

See you Space Cowboy. <3 Trin
